Age:  14 & up
Prerequisites:  Latin II or teacher’s permission
Cost:  $240 tuition per year, paid in four $60 payments;
$35 copy/supply fee per year, paid in one $35 payment

Description: This class is a continuation of Latin II.  We will finish Latin Alive!  Book 2 and complete Book 3.  Students will learn all forms of participles, independent, dependent and relative clauses, all infinitives, gerunds, deponent verbs, supine, subjunctive, conditions, purpose, result, relative, result, and proviso clauses.  Extensive study of Latin derivatives and stories of Roman culture, myths and history make Latin come alive.  Latin poetry will be studied, including dactylic hexameter, and substantial Latin works from Virgil, Horace, Ovid, Sallust, Nepos, Varro, Cato, Ennius, and Livy will be translated, preparing the student for the Latin SAT, as well as developing English grammar, vocabulary, logic, and problem solving skills.  Students should expect to spend about 3.5-4 hours each week on homework outside of class.  Access to email and internet required.  One high school language credit.
