Class Description
Monday, 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM
Science Investigations  
Teacher:  Sharon Duguay
Age:  9 - 11
Cost:  $50 tuition, 1 of 4 payments;
$30 copy/supply fee per year
Description: Students will learn the basics of science through the eyes of a researcher.  In this class they will learn basic science skills, vocabulary, and how to use the scientific method.  They will learn scientific concepts as they perform investigations in the fields of zoology, botany, ornithology, ichthyology, entomology, oceanography, geology, meteorology, ecology, chemistry, acoustics, physics, and more.  (That’s animals, plants, birds, fish, bugs, the ocean, the earth, weather, the environment, chemical reactions, sound, electricity, and magnetism.)  Methods will include activities that will challenge students to use all of their senses to investigate these scientific fields.  Students will also learn basic note taking and how to record scientific information.
