Description: The Puppetry Manipulation class will be focused on puppeteering, storytelling, and working as a team to create skits. This will be achieved by decorating pre-made puppets to create different characters and then writing the scripts. Puppetry isn’t just about having fun – your students will practice their reading and writing as they create scripts and begin to understand what makes great literature as they learn about storytelling. The class will have 2-3 different "shows" that we will open to the families for performances. Students will be encouraged to gather materials for their character from goodwill or at home if they have a specific idea and don't see something from the available materials. Students will create a character that will be placed on a professional puppet for use during class. At the end of the year students will transfer their character to a hand puppet to take home. Please let me know if you have any questions!
